Back to School sorted

The start of the academic year can be a time of tremendous stress for teachers, parents, and learners alike.

Learners who do not have their school requirements (or correct school requirements) can cause disruptions in the classroom, or hamper progress with teaching, which can lead to additional frustration for teachers, learners and in turn, parents.

Parents can also feel overwhelmed with the list of requirements that they receive from schools, unfamiliar with some of the items required and may purchase incorrectly.

Simply Everything Gifts & Stationery aims to get the academic year off to a flying start, by assisting schools and parents with receiving their school requirements timeously.  To achieve this outcome, orders need to be placed by schools or parents before the end of November (Suppliers close for December/January and we are unable to replenish stock until they re-open in January – therefore any orders placed after the end of November will most likely be delivered late).

We know that it can be difficult for parents to meet Back to School purchasing deadlines, but we have a solution that can assist parents in this regard as well.

SCHOOL PURCHASES

If schools purchase resources themselves to distribute to learners, Simply Everything can assist with catalogues and additional information on sourcing new or existing resources for use for the following academic year from publishers and other suppliers before lists are compiled.

Orders can be sent as a bulk delivery, or packed per student/grade/subject, as arranged with the school.  The aim is to make delivery of requirements as simple as possible and remove most of the admin involved in distributing books, stationery and other resources from the staff of the school.

Quantity discounts apply on items from quantities of 5+ of the same item.

Usually, no delivery fee applies to these orders as they are above the threshold, for courier charges (orders above R5000).  We can deliver nationwide.

We can also assist schools with the setup of their requirements lists, whether the school purchases the requirements themselves or hands these lists to parents to acquire the necessary items.

PARENTS PURCHASE REQUIREMENTS

If schools send out requirement lists to parents, (whether Simply Everything assists with the setup of requirement lists or not) the lists can be loaded as packs onto our website.

Lists are set up as packs on our website.  Parents can order their requirements with one click, by adding the pack to their cart (this function is only available until the end of November each year).  Adding the pack to their cart would include all the listed items, and parents would not have to search for any additional items on the list.

Parents can also choose not to purchase the entire pack.  They can shop for only required items from within the pack or use our online order form to select the required items.

Parents that are registered on our website can also order by email or Whatsapp.

Packs are prepared by order; they are not pre-packed.  This allows parents to personalise the pack by choosing colours for boys or girls and left or right-handed items, where applicable.

Packs are sent to parents as soon as we can complete them.

FOR PARENTS WHO STRUGGLE TO PAY BEFORE THE DEADLINE

We find that many parents wait until December to purchase their requirements as financially, this is a better time for them.  Unfortunately, almost all of the orders placed in December are delivered late due to supplier closures.

Our solution allows parents to spread the cost of their requirements by purchasing S-Bucks during the year.  These S-Bucks accumulate on their profiles until parents are ready to use them for the purchase of school requirements, or any other purchase.  Parents choose their own monthly amount based on their financial situation, or their previous year’s spend.  Whichever amount they choose, they will only need to pay the difference between their invoice total for their requirements and the amount accumulated on their profile, if there is a difference.  Any unspent S-Bucks remain on the parent’s profile for a future purchase (S-Bucks are valid for 36 months).

Other advantages of using S-Bucks are that we are able to start preparing their packs as soon as we receive the school’s lists and no interest is payable on their purchase.

Those parents who prefer not to use our S-Bucks programme can still pay by bank deposit, EFT, debit or credit card.  We do not offer credit but do accept Mobicred payments.  Parents can apply online for Mobicred at the time of their purchase – credit is subject to approval by Mobicred and interest is charged by Mobicred as stipulated in their terms and conditions.  We also accept MoreTyme payments, which allows parents to repay interest-free over 3 months.

Whichever payment method is used, the key to receiving school requirements timeously is ordering early – Simply Everything aims to assist schools and parents in any way possible to achieve this.
